BRING HUNGARIAN CULTURE AND CUISINE TO BROADER AUDIENCES IN NEW YORK CITY AND BEYOND.
As a privately funded nonprofit, the Tulipán Foundation was established in memory of Réka Darida, whose commitment to Hungarian arts and culture and philanthropic vision inform its mission.

DEFINING MOMENTS
Over the past half-decade, the foundation has supported artists in the U.S. and Hungary, hosted immersive cultural events, and built a vibrant community that brings Hungarian traditions to life.

Tulipán announces the launch of four inaugural grant programs in the United States.

Construction begins on the Tulipán Foundation’s future home at 1065 Madison Avenue.

The Foundation’s Egg-citing Illuminations program receives coverage in The New York Times as a cultural event for families.

Our inaugural gala is held MoMath in celebration of Hungary's remarkable legacy in science, art, and the culmination of the Neumann 120 Conference.

The organization is renamed the Tulipán Foundation, inspired by the tulip, a traditional motif in Hungarian culture.
SEPT 1 2021
The Foundation launches its first grant program to support Hungarian artists and bring their work to broader audiences in the United States.

FEB 26 2022
Farsang becomes the Foundation's first public event, offering families the opportunity to experience traditional Hungarian carnival festivities.

JUL 12 2021
The foundation purchases a restored 1890s townhouse on the Upper East Side, with plans to create a new home for Hungarian culture in New York City.
